Marcin Bąkowicz · Photographer · Warsaw

I’m not just a photographer.
First of all I’m a person — same as you.

04 · What you’ll see

You’ll see yourself, in your own light.

Scars are part of your story. Being uneven is human. And you — exactly as you are — are interesting enough to be worth telling about.

SOOC
Straight Out Of Camera. An image close to what the sensor captured.
No surgery
No reshaping of face or body. Truth as an advantage, not a prison.

05 · Where it began

Before I could walk,
I could look.

My dad Jacek died when I was three. I never got to remember his face — but I remember him through pictures. He and my mum Anna loved photography. They had their own darkroom.

It was them — my mum, my grandad and my grandma — who gave me my first camera. Maybe that’s why photography was never a hobby to me. It was a way of staying close to someone who wasn’t there any more.

What they say from the other side of the lens

You don’t need to know
how to pose.

I’ll walk you through it. Calmly. Step by step. No pressure.
